Bury feel the fury.

Danny | August 28, 2011

With Bradley Wright Phillips not playing this game it was hard to think how this game would go . As Bradley has had a lot to say and do when it comes to getting the ball in the net. And yet we seemed to do fine without him brilliant. We did slip up int he first half and things did not seem great. However after a great start to the second half things seemed alright again equalizing and then going on the take the lead.Where does this leave us ? Well second but we are on the same amount of points. So that’s it really not much to moan about.

The Games Off

Danny | August 9, 2011

Due to the recent riots in London and the surrounding areas the reading game has been called off. Brilliant…

The riots have spread and there is amateur footage of thugs in Woolwich (Near Charlton)

Shame as we I really had high hopes about winning this game.

Hopefully the riots will be over soon as David Cameron is calling off his holiday.

I checked in to a Spanish TV station and the riots have been reported. Not the kind of image London needs 1 year from the Olympics.

Morrisons

Danny | July 8, 2011

Now considering the title you were probably thinking this was some how relevant to the shop. Well its not , Its about Michael Morrison. He was snapped up for an ‘undisclosed’ fee. Powell said ”He’s a player I know I can trust. He has already got 100 games behind him and I think he’s a player who can do well for us. It’s great to have him on board.” And Powell has already worked with him before. He was at Sheffield 12 appearances and scored no goals… But it should be a good investment if Powell thinks he would be an asset. And as I previously predicted Jose Semedo has now left. This is a player that has actually been with us years and I was a fan of , sure he was not the greatest player but he was a great team man. And not to mention our new recruit from Bermuda. Freddy Hall ,a goal keeper, has joined us on a two week trial. I think this is great because I have never had much faith in our keepers since our old one left in 2009.

Links

Danny | July 7, 2011

So In this post I thought I would highlight some good charlton blogs that I look at. Below are some.

Dr Kish –  http://www.doctorkish.com/ -  This one is really great. The name is given to this website because its a on-line therapy for the addicted. At the right are the posts and quite similarly to this site at the right is a live feed of Charlton news. The blog is regularly updated and gives some great opinions.

Forever Charlton – http://www.forevercharlton.st398.com/ - This one is owned by Dave , my uncle. This one is not really a blog but a informative website and a hub as such were most Charlton fans go to for news and from there are redirected. It has the news feed of live information which is what most people use. Probably the best place to go for Charlton news.

New York Addick – http://newyorkaddick.blogspot.com/ - As the name may suggest this guy is from New York. The website is regularly updated and features some great opinions.

Addicks championship Diary – http://addickschampionshipdiary.blogspot.com/ -  Originally named addicks premiership diary. For obvious reasons it was renamed. This is a great website for fan views and for up to date news.

Once again ALL of the posts of these websites appear at the right of Danny Valley, to make it more convenient for you to find the news, views and general charlton stuff written by fans for fans.

And Another 2

Danny | July 3, 2011

This post may seem a bit late but at least its here. Now as you all may know we have got a lot of players signed that range form midfield to up front. Buts what all of that worth if our defence sucks. Well Powell has used his brain and signed Rhoys Wiggins , From Bournemouth. Apparently for 300,000. This is great news. Then the other one is Matt Taylor. He was a keeper but is no longer the one to save the goals. I have heard fans say this is like 1986. Now obviously I was not alive then but from what I hear that year there was a mad spending spree and then they got promoted. Well let us hope this is the case. And a litlle warning please brace yourselves for the graphic images of a crystal palace logo below.

Jose Semedo and Danny Green

Danny | June 28, 2011

As gossip may have told you by now Jose Semedo has been wanting to leave Charlton. This is a shame as he has been with us a while and I feel like he was a valuable player in all of this. Crystal Palace and Sheffield hot at his tails with pen and paper. So with another player gone Powell will probably sign some more players to replace him. Danny Green is rumoured to be joining the club. He is a great player and would be a brilliant addition to the team. I think its great to get fresh blood in the team but again must mention the new season is not that far off. If you get too many new players they may not be in key with each other as they have not had much chance to practice/play. So I think its crucial to set up as many friendlies as possible to give them all a chance to find each others strength’s and weaknesses. And what tactics work and don’t.

Mikel Alonso

Danny | June 23, 2011

Xabi’s brother has joined the addicks. Some people might get excited and think great if his brother is good he will be too right ? Well not necessarily. Frank Lampard’s brother plays for a smaller club. But hey a signing is a signing. There is not really much else on this as not much information was given on the Charlton website. Alonso said it was not a difficult decision: ”This has been a really interesting move for me. Once the club showed interest, it was a not difficult decision , I have wanted to start working,”. He came from Tenerife where he made 65 appearances and scored 3 goals. Playing at Bolton before. It seems that we are getting lots of new signings but not really thinking about whether or not they will be good in the long run. But hopefully it will help us get promoted.

Emmanuel Frimpong and Paul Hayes

Danny | June 18, 2011

Emmanuel Frimpong has made it clear that he is not very happy about the fact that he is not getting regularly played at Arsenal . He said ” whats the point of staying here” He made it clear that he understands that Charlton and cardiff both are showing signs of wanting him and that he would consider the move. It has been a tough season for him with the leg injury and everything but I think he would be great on the squad and coming from Arsenal then he is obviously pretty good . I must admit I question why someome would want to move from such a big team to a little one but hey I don’t ask questions , if life gives you lemos take them because hey free lemons right . Another player close to coming to the valley is Paul  Hayes , Preston have released him making him a free man . Which in turn means that Charlton could take him . There are some ther clubs that have shown interest but Charlton have made it clear that they are pretty sure he will be with us for next season .

Contract News

Danny | May 22, 2011

After revamping the website and adding a few features to help the site make some money I’m back . So after a awful season we are now looking at the market. As we now 4 of the squad have been released but Yado Mambo and Ben Davisson have been assigned new contracts at the valley. But right now the future of players like Chris Daily is still uncertain . It would be a real shame to loose them as they make the team stronger and account to some of the goals that are scored . Most of their contracts last untill June so for now they are held at the valley. Another player that should make a comeback is Youga . Which is great as he has been off for ages. So what does this all mean . Well it would be an awful shame for some of the senior players to leave but then we do need some fresh talent . One point I od wish to make is that if we get all new players they would not be in key with echother which would result in bad game play. So a balance has to be mey between the two . Some new some old . But we do need to make the most of this as we don’t want to have the same fate as a few years ago . When we had a bad season and the next season we got religated . would say we need to keep our chins up and get a good squad ready for next season .

Playing The Same Way

Danny | March 13, 2011

We seem to be plating worst and worst . We all remeber the first few games under Powell . Everyone deaming of promotion and yet it all wore off . And it did not last . We are down to 11th in the league and have litlle if any hope of promotion . We almost got one poing from Brentford . But a late goal stole our point . And Powell has a ban . Everything does not seem to be going well . I remeber a few seasons ago we started with hope of promotion but finnished mid table . The next season we got relegated. I really hope that this does not happen again . We need to pull toguether , play like a team and keep our hopes up .Powell was not the ‘wonder manager’ . In fact maybe Parky was better . But let’s just jope for now that we can finnish at least 6th .

And Again

Danny | February 22, 2011

Blimey we lost 3-1 .Forget automatic promotion . We are not even in the play off’s . No one scored during the first half . The full stadium that had bought their tickets for a fiver waited for a goal . The second half was awful. Three goals they scored . Charlton getting a consolation one back . We do have a game in hand against MK DONS . Thats why we are 7th . Hopefully now we can concentrate on getting in the play off spaces. And if we get promoted it it will be a bonus. Oh well next time we’l do better . Lets not be the underachievers .

The Good Spell Ends

Danny | February 16, 2011

Yesterday after a short unbeaten run Charlton were defeated. We went one down at the first half and then in the second we equalized . Unfortunately they scored again .We played well with lots of decent crosses . However no one was there to make these good crosses good goals. If anything this is a reality check that even a good manager does not make us unbeatable . I think that although we can still push for automatic we should press for the play off . As a more realistic target . On on last note you can get tickets for a fiver to the Saturday game . Anyone any age. Sadly I can’t make it . Here is the link http://www.cafctv.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10267~2275268,00.html .

Making A Move For Bradley Wright-Phillips

Danny | January 25, 2011

Chris Powell has openned up the check book to buy Bradley. This is good news as it will bring fresh talent to the club. Bradley has played for Manchester city before and in his own words is ‘I’m delighted to join Charlton. They are a club heading in the right direction. As soon as I spoke to the manager” Good news .

No Pitch Problems

Danny | December 24, 2010

Charlton have reported that the match on boxing day SHOULD go ahead as the pitch is OK . This game will be crucial as a win here could boost us back up to second . If other games go our way . Not to mention the game that was PP. It would be great if we could get back up as we really want promotion this year . Today also the clubs take over should take place. As they said it should be done by the 24th . This means (hopefully ) some more money to get fresh talent in the January transfer window.
