Not doing too good …

Danny | September 4, 2010

So Charlton fell to 11th today as we lost a disappointing game to Exeter . A late penalty that was in turn scored meant that Charlton ended the game on a low . The game was quiet tied. This game saw us getting two yellow cards and Wagstaff being substituted. The good start to the season is now being undermined by the two last games . Getting thrashed against Huddersfield 3-1. Ye again Charlton seem to be letting themselves down . Last season was a good season and this year was meant to be better. At the moment it seems like Charlton have two faces. Some games they can trash the opponent putting up a good display yet other times they can play like clowns and loose pathetically. This game was not like that but it was a bad performance and I feel like they should have done better. I don’t think we can really hope for automatic promotion but maybe if the guys put in a fresh pair of batteries we can make the play-offs and see were we go from there. Again it’s still early days and this is just my opinion.

Goal Fever!

Danny | August 14, 2010

So we hit the number one spot with a goal filled match .
The goals came from McCormack 27, Wagstaff 62, Solly 90.
A very happy Charlton walked away from this game top of the table. The very best name on the top of the table. It is a very good start to the league . Hopefully now we can go on and keep our unbeaten record for another few games . Last season was close this season will probably be even closer but we all have faith in Charlton and their bouncebackability. I do think that Parky should have a word with the boys its football not kung fu . We have had players sent off every game. Even if some of them were silly red cards.

Interest in Liam Chilvers ?

Danny | June 15, 2010

As we now Parky is trying to improve the squad for the next season . Well his latest idead is Liam Chilvers .
Parky said “Liam is one of a number of players we’ve been looking at and I’ve spoken to his agent a couple of times.”
He looks like a decent player and a good addition to the team.

So Close Yet so far away

Danny | May 8, 2010

Well this was it make or break and unfortunately it was not enough . We played well and goals from Nicky Bailey and Miguel Angel Llera gave us a well deserved win. Tomorrow the link for the highlights should be up. For a short time at 4:17 we were in the dream position . Sadly things changed and we now Finnish 4th after Leeds won their game . We will play Swindon in the semi’s and hopefully make it to Wembley what we need know is not to sulk over not winning this game but move on and have a positive mindset for the play off’s. For as we have said many times we have bouncebackability :D . Slim chance I might make it to the final (if we get in ) and if we do it would be an honour to go down there. I do think we deserved to win but I bow down to Leeds as they have been for years trying to get promoted. We were both strong teams but sadly we were not the strongest team. Any way let’s just hope and keep up a good mindset.

Charlton v Southampton preview

Danny | April 10, 2010

Wow this game is really going to be a make or break time for Charlton if we want to get promoted. Currently lying fifth we now have to push if we want to stay in the play off or even push for automatic promotion. Just two points away the best we can hope is for us to win and everyone else to loose. That is however unlikely as the other teams have easy home games. Lets hope for the best !

Back on fire

Danny | February 22, 2010

I attended this game and was very  pleased  with the result. I was sat at the front somewhere i have never sat before the view was ok struglled to see at some times because of the sun. We played really well Lloyd Sam worked hard at making chances Bailey did not play that well scufing up some really good chances that other players might have scored.

The ref was not very open to stopping play and he just let it go on and there were some clear fouls that he did not give .

The goals where quite impressive  especially the second one but i do feel that if we had taken some time we could have had a few more.

Elliot ofcourse yet again proved why he is the first choice keeper bailing us out twice from silly mistakes.

I was dedfinatly very pleased with this game and am glad that the 5 game spell is broken.

The Spark Is Gone

Danny | February 16, 2010

Well this game does nothing but remind me of two seasons ago when we started off with a spark and then ended up not even in the play offs . I expect Basey has had his time and now he is sinking back down to earth we managed to pull one back but Rob had to make some good saves to bail us out. Akpo Sodje has a good chance probably one of the best but he missed wide . After we where two goals down and in to extra time we managed to get a consolation goal .As I said the spark is gone.

Lets get 2010 started with a win!

Danny | January 14, 2010

So it looks like after a long spell of no games due to bad weather we might finally get a game starting with Wycombe on the 16th hopefully this game will kick off our 2010 campaign and get us back up to our rightful second place as we saw recently we dropped down to third. So Until the 16 keep hoping for everything to go well and well for it at least not to snow in Wycombe.

Top of the table!

Danny | October 19, 2009

Would you look at that the mighty Leeds had to make way for the even mightier Charlton ! The goals started early on with a beautiful header by Sodje in the 8th minute. Of course Huddersfield have a reputation for scoring so what did they do they scored ! A very good free kick that left Elliot with no chance of even trying to save it !

It was not until the second half that we went in front and there where many chances from Huddersfield but we managed to stay on top. Finally McLeod scored a header to put us in front.

Huddersfield then went on to score but have it ruled out for a foul, we where extremely lucky.

So now that we are top of the table we need to try to stay there, but of course it is almost impossible to stay there till May but we at least need to be there poking our heads in constantly trying and trying to get in to the top spot. The team is fine so I would have no clue what Parky will do in the January Transfer window but whatever he does I hope it does not weaken the strong team we have now, perhaps a stronger defender but as I said I think the team is fine.
